I have suffered from acne for a long time. Did find the book to be helpfully although it did not help my acne completely. Still a good read for anyone interested in learning more about skin and diet, etc.

Very informative.

This book has a lot of good information for women suffering from hormonal acne. The author has researched this topic for years (I have followed her on YT and her blog) and I believe she is very knowledgeable when it comes to acne. She will give you important information you would never hear from your traditional skin doctors.

Fantastic book on getting rid of female acne!

In my opinion this is the best book if you want to efficiently and permanently get rid of your (female) acne! This book is not your tipical book on nutrition or skincare (which some think is the only way to heal acne) but is way more thorough: it focuses on all levels of your being and Fran's approach is trully holistic - in order to heal your skin (which is only a symptom of a deeper imbalance in your body) you have to work on taking care of the emotional and energetic part of your body. Over the years, Fran Kerr worked with so many women one-on-one to heal their skin (and has also managed to heal her own) so I trd writingust she knows what she is doing and writing.
The book is a very informative and well-structured guide and it includes chapters on dealing with stress, balancing your hormones (crucial for your overall health!), skin care, eating well, emotional work and more. I particually liked the chapter "Love yourself" as it offers great advice and is probably one of the most important pieces of the acne-healing puzzle.
Fran also has a youtube channel and runs two websites (highonhealth and highonclearskin) where you can find many articles and advices which will help you on your skin and health journey. The content on the highonclearskin is very similar to this guide so you can take a look there and see for yourself that Fran trully knows her stuff. She is a really wonderful person and you can contact her anytime with your questions or book in an online consultation.

Works great, very fast, no compatibility issues with devices that support SDXC. Was able to do 93.53MB/s sequential reads and 56.63MB/s sequential writes. The random writes are slower, so this wouldn't be great for an OS (like a Raspberry Pi). But perfectly designed and very fast for a camera recording images or video.

ALERT! These may not be truly UHS-I U3

[[VIDEOID:c9b61fbda6b9c8d82898da1d315621d6]] I purchase this in order to record 4k on my Sony AX33 using the 100mbs for the highest quality 4k (vs 60mbs). I install the card and I set to 100mbs but, receive a message that I must install a U3 card. That is what I purchased. I did some research online and found a reference where some where having the same issue and others were not. I decided to go to a local store and I found the exact same PNY SD card. I purchased it and tried it at home. Well guess what? It worked! Not errors. I looked at both packages in great detail and only found a few differences. Note the pictures: The SD card on the right DOES work as a UHS-I U3 @ 100mbs the one on the left I purchased from amazon and is NOT recognized as a UHS-I U3. Works perfectly -- and at a great price

I got this card about 10 days ago and have used it extensively. I was particularly interested in its U3 speed rating, since I shoot lots of 4K video at a speed of 100 Mbps (I use a Panasonic ZS100 camera). So far, this 128GB PNY SD card has worked perfectly, with no hiccups or problems. Even with 4K video at 100 Mbps, it can hold a LOT of video.

Good price and no glitches -- excellent product.

June 2, 2016 edit: I've now used this card for a month, extensively shooting 4K video. There has not been one glitch with this card -- excellent performance at a great price.

My Review:
I had this book recommended to me on Goodreads by another blogger who knows my m/m tastes. I had to admit that I was curious about the premise on this one...a sex surrogate and a wheelchair bound author. It was unusual enough to pique my curiosity. That along with the rec meant that I slid this book to the top of my TBR pile, ahead of the other 1400 books that I currently own that I haven't read. O.O (yeah, I know...*sigh* But you all and authors keep telling me about such great books! What's a girl to do?)

But anyway...yes, this was a fantastic recommendation. And a lot of that is simply because the heroes are so unlikely, but wow...I fell in love with them

First let's talk about Michael...he's a sex surrogate and a nurse. Gah...if there is another character out there with a purer heart, I don't know of him. This guy is pure emotion...pure empathy...pure caring. He cares about people so much. That's why he's a sex surrogate. He helps guys who can't have sex otherwise through mental or physical issues that hinder them. He is so incredibly empathetic, you can't help but fall in love with him. But he's also so incredibly lonely. His sex surrogacy...is just that...a therapy for his patients. It's not for him and has no emotional attachment for him. This guy wants and needs someone to connect to on a personal level so badly. My heart just hurt for him.

Then there's James. He was in India as a child and got infected with polio. His mother abandoned him because of it. As a result, he's never really had a relationship. He has such a mental block about his useless legs....he doesn't want ANYONE to see them...which doesn't work real well if he ever wants to have sex. He lives through his books and stories and is truly a complete recluse. But his book sales have been bleak so his agent is pushing him to do more personal promo...something he HATES. But he meets Michael at one of these events. Michael has been in love with James since he read his first book at 16. Michael has such a pure heart, he doesn't think twice about the wheelchair when he sees James. It's James who has the issue with it.

This is such a sweet book and incredible romance. I loved reading it and watching these two guys connect. It was truly beautiful. The sex surrogacy story line was interesting and I enjoyed that aspect and getting to know Michael's patients. But as an author, I really enjoyed James' story too. Authors tend to be naturally introverted people and I definitely connected to him as a character. (I hate, hate, hate signings. I would so much rather sit in a quiet corner and observe the world.)

This is the third book in this series and I want to go back and read the first two. It absolutely and completely works as a stand alone, but I'm fascinated by the clinic and it sounds like the other characters there are featured at least in the first book in the series.

I definitely recommend this one though!

I have read three books this year so far that have broken me... ripped out my heart and made me want to reach into the book and hug every character.

The first was Glory Lands by Vastine Bondurant, the second Hainted from Jordan L Hawk, and the third is the latest book from Eli Easton, the third book in her Seattle series, The Mating of Michael.

I read this in one go. I had to do a mum-taxi run half way through and I was gutted, and all I could think about was this book every second I was out. Michael is an angel, subtle, and beautifully drawn. James is so damaged inside, from abandonment and other issues. Michael has an extraordinary ability to see inside people and he is so gentle, and exactly right for James.

I adored the science fiction story woven into the story which made me well up on several occasions. Love the misunderstandings, and the resolution, and the secondary characters, and the final sentence. I just loved it all. It was a stunning and beautiful book.

I can not recommend this series, or in fact this author, enough.

Beautiful -- made me cry

This is the first novel I have read by Eli Easton, and it certainly won't be the last.

I will not rehash the plot, but this novel dealt with some difficult subjects so beautifully, with good taste and a deft understanding, it blew me away. Who knew science fiction, sexual surrogacy, and a search for true love by two beautiful and vulnerable men could really be this good to read. And the sex scenes? Just right.

Wonderful story, wonderful characters, including the secondary clients. A great interweaving of plot lines. And yes, it touched me to the point of tears.

I was getting so tired of cookie cutter m/m romance -- this book reminded me that there are some fabulous writers in the field. Kudos to the author. *Applause*

What a fun book...

This book starts as a clever twist on the "this little piggie.." childrens rhyme and turns into a fun counting book with a humorous ending. This is a book that both kids and adults can enjoy. The illustrations are great as well and they contain some fun surprises for especially observant children. Highly recommended.

Both of my kids (age 2 and 5) LOVE this book and want to read it practically every day. It is really cute and they love pointing out where the big bad wolf is hiding on every page. The big bad wolf is certainly a character and they find it very amusing!

The Big, Bad Wolf wants to eat all 20 piggies, but they surprise him in the end! Good book for kids learning to count beyond 10, and still high interest for my 5yr old. She likes to find where the wolf is hiding on every page.

Nothing beats practice and experienced guidance, but this text is an aide memoire I am glad to have found. British Journal of Hospital Medicine I can thoroughly recommend this book. It should be available in all departments of anaesthesia and critical care as a handy and rapid reference for anaesthetists beginning their training or before carrying out an invasive procedure. Anaesthesia I enjoyed reading through this handbook size, soft cover book...I believe amny anaesthetic and critical care trainess will purchase a copy of the book and it will be a popular choice for departmental libraries. It should also be of interest to other acute medical and surgical trainees, plus other critical care and theatre staff. The writing style and clear illustrations make this book very easy to read. About the Author

Guy Jackson graduated from Southampton University in 1998, beginning his anaesthetic career in 2002. He worked in Chichester, Portsmouth and in the Imperial School of Anaesthesia before his appointment as a consultant at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading in 2009.

Christopher Whiten is a consultant anaesthetist currently working in London. He studied medicine at University College London Medical School, graduating in 1996. Following graduation he went on to work in hospitals throughout London, initially in medicine, and then started training in anaesthesia in 2001.

Neil Soni trained in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care in Sydney, Australia, before being appointed Senior Lecturer at Westminster Hospital, UK in 1985. He then became a Consultant in Intensive Care and Anaesthesia at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, before becoming Consultant Anaesthetist and Intensivist at Imperial College, London, UK.

How Do You Think?

I was amazed by this book. I was reading it when we left for a two-day driving trip. Even though I am unable to read in a moving car, I kept it near at hand to read whenever we stopped at a rest area or gas station. It was so compelling that when I finished it, I immediately tossed it back near the top of my to-read pile. The second time through, I found that it had just as much to offer (if not more) as it had the first time.
Every once in awhile, I run across a book that helps me reorganize the way I think about the world. This is such a book. Through the use of examples and detailed examination of various aspects of modern life, Kegan considers what kinds of demands the world puts on us for thinking and relating. He makes a very solid case that cognitive development does not end after one passes through the developmental stages of childhood and adolescence (magical, concrete and abstract).
By carefully considering what it is exactly that we ask adolescents to do in making the transition from concrete to abstract cognition, Kegan sets the groundwork for a careful explantion of what the next order of thought is, what it looks like, and how the modern world demands that we master it. he looks in detail at just what we ask from adults in the areas of parenting, partnering, work, dealing with differnce, healing and learning. In each case, he shows that the modern world is set up so that people thrive best if they can use what he calls a fourth-order way of relating to the world, other people, and oneself.
This book helped me understand observations that had puzzled me, and suggests ways in which adult education theories (which generally drive me crazy) need to be expanded to explain what really happens when adults come together to learn.
One very interesting thing about this book is that Kegan is able to report on research studies that support his theory. Probably the most important thing this book does is to provide a framework for considering people in the context of how they individually construct the world and their relationship to it, which allows me to judge whether a person is authentic, courageuos or generous on his own terms, not on mine.

An Incredible Book

This tour-de-force does much to explain how people's interactions are affected by their developmental stage and goes a long way toward fleshing out adult developmental theories. It hypothesizes that mental development is intricately entwined with world view and one's understanding of events and roles. It explains relations between romantic partners, family members, communities, and cultures. Kegan's hypotheses are informed, but not limited, by existing psychological frameworks. He is like a sociologist in his outlook and a psychologist in his theorizing. He writes about sophisticated ideas and complex topics in a clear and approachable way. His conception of mental development is not easy to grasp in its entirety but pondering it is well worth the effort. The book is one of the best written in the last 20 years in any field.

Kegan is in over my head...

I will begin by simply admitting that of all the books that I have read in my life, this was one of the most laborious for me to finish. The first several chapters were rather grueling, I settled into things a bit in the middle, and the end was downright painful. I am not conceited enough to think that no book should ever be written that might challenge my mind, but I am also not some sort of mental misfit.

My frustration centers around the fact that Kegan's writing was so dense. Some of his sentences were whole paragraphs long, with multiple parenthetical phrases. I realize that Kegan is an intellectual giant and works in academia, but it seems to me that his greatest weakness (and the most significant barrier that prevents his ideas from reaching a broader audience) is his inability (or refusal, whichever the case may be) to write in a more accessible style. He mentioned in his Prologue that he apparently received considerable criticism about his earlier book, "The Evolving Self," for its inaccessibility. If "In Over Our Heads" is an improvement, I shudder to think about reading its predecessor.

Of course, I'm not suggesting that Kegan doesn't have some helpful things to say. In fact, the overarching premise of the book (that modern life demands adults to process on a fourth level of consciousness, which is all too rare and leaves many people struggling to keep their heads above water) is solid and makes sense. And the anecdotes and stories that he includes are helpful in clarifying his points. But I just didn't think it was worth the effort to try to wade through his writing style. I'm sure that many social scientists have been captivated by this book, but for the general population, only the rarest of readers will find Kegan sufficiently engaging to endure this beast. I'm glad that I got through it, but I'm hard-pressed to recommend it to others.
