- E-book of Grant's book

Does the product function like it should?
- Yes it has a number of different tactics on how to close sales and it doesn't have much fluff. Grant tries to explain every point and how to overcome obstacles with these closes

What’s good about them?
- Grant goes over almost every single possible situation that has to do with closing. If you're an aggressive type of salesman who wants to close calls and needs some advice on how to overcome obstacles this is the right way to do it.

What’s bad about them?
- I like Grant's super motivational attitude and ability to get his message across but I don't feel like I'm the type of salesman his book is speaking to. He has an aggressive style, i like to build relationship with my clients more than anything, so some of the stuff works and some doesn't.

Who would i recommend it to?
Anyone who's in sales and wants to read all the diffferent types of closes available, different scenarios you might run into to overcome objections. This is a good book for anyone who's starting sales or even been in sales for a few years but haven't read more about it.

Any other notes?

Conclusion:
- This is a good book, i would recommend this to sales people of any experience. After reading this, it will re-enforce all the closes you already know about but at the same time it will expose you to different ones you may never thought of. The more knowledge you have, the better.

For closers only

Definitely a lot of good material packed into this book. First Grant will work on your mindset, then give you the rules of closing. Be prepared to do some work in memorizing all the closes (over 100) and working them to fit your industry and product.

If you've ever run out of material to overcome objections, this is for you. If you've ever wondered if there are more than the couple closes your manager gave you, this is for you. If you've ever had trouble getting a deal closed, this is for you. You need this book to get your head straight and to get you closing. This is to be read/listened to multiple times and it's highly recommended. Get the book so we can get you closing more, that is what you want isn't it? If you're not going to do it for yourself, do it for me.

Another favorite from grant cardone....... Bought the audio book and listen to it in the car, at the office and during the workout...... bout the kindle edition to take notes. Use the closes, make the sale. Bought on Friday, Monday closed a 250k sale, 360k sale on Tuesday. Sold more in one week than most do in 3 months.... Stop asking if you should, this one can make you a milllion!

The testimonies and witness of a great era.

As a small child, I recall hearing about prayers and hopes for renewals and revivals. As I grew older, the conversations in the circles around me seemed to dim and it wasn't till I was found myself involved in a more Charismatic/Empowered Evangelical circle, that I started to hear these words of radical meaning again. Somewhere along my early journey, I became deeply interested in the spiritual significance of much of what happened in the Jesus People movements in Southern California, the West Coast and in traveling buses full of revival hippies. My research into that led me down many of the historical adventures of this era, some really good and some really bad. Some years later, I found myself interested in the Welsh Revivals During my research into the Welsh Revivals I found my interest renewed into the revival outbreaks of Southern California, but this time in a different era. The Azusa Street Revivals.

I came across this, The Azusa Papers (kindle book) (and some others) based on the first hand reports of the Azusa Street Revival, on Amazon. There were a few things that stood out to me about this book that encouraged me to purchase it, besides the ninety-nine cent price tag. First this book was a collection of the newsletters that were printed, released and sent out during the climax of the meetings. This collection features the newsletters from Rev. William Seymour, who was one of the leading instruments used in the revival.

William Seymour was an African American Pastor, who was heavily influenced by the Holiness Movement during his time in Bible School. He was born in Louisiana defined by the same utter poverty that found many black families in the decades after the Civil War, as the south scrambled to reconstruct. William studied the Bible in Texas and found himself moving to Los Angeles to serve the call of the Lord. He found a run down building in the Los Angeles area, on a road called Azusa Street.

Seymour held services and renewal meetings in this old building that once had been an AME church and at one time apartments. He could only do what he could to preach the truth about the Kingdom of God, as he understood it. His work was known as the Apostolic Faith Mission. Somewhere along the way, God showed up in these humble meetings and allowed his Holy Spirit to break through in some people's lives. Some say, this is where the American Pentecostal movement got it's start, mainly because it's widely accepted that Charles Harrison Manson was touched by the Holy Spirit at one of these meetings, and would later form the Pentecostal movement denomination, Church of God in Christ. These meetings began in 1906 and ended somewhere to sometime in 1915.
Though church history, as widely ignored this movement and the role of William Seymour and the `things' that happened at the revivals, we find that this is one of the largest scales of racial reconciliation, as blacks, whites and others gathered together under one church roof. The Kingdom of God was no less radical in his calling of people during the Azusa Street Revival than he was in the gathering days of the churches of Acts. Their biggest threats and onslaught of rebuke came from protestant churches and denominations who questioned their orthodoxy, practices and the `outrageous' things that were happening in their meetings. However, church history cannot ignore the sheer amounts of people touched during these revivals and as God used the Holy Spirit to pour out the Kingdom of God and draw people to know their creator. Evangelicals from all over the United States and world came to see investigate what was happening and to pursue after God. By 1905, God had rolled up his sleeves and evangelicals were being challenged and convicted by what they saw in these meetings and brought a piece of the revival and their understandings of it, back home to their churches and began to pray for and incorporate it's ideals. The way in which it spread to churches across America and impact them, is the significance of this movement that we overlook.

To help testify, teach and proclaim the Kingdom of God and debrief their meetings, Seymour began sending out a newsletter that eventually was going to over 50,000 individuals. He called his newsletter, The Apostolic Faith. This collection of the papers, shows Seymour's heart and plays first hand witness to the names, faces and teachings of the early days of the revival. I know many people who still oppose this style of ministry, will question some practices of the revivals towards the last days, but I truly believe it's start was one of God and his kingdom. These papers humbly portray the heart and love for God and others that Seymour and his church held in their hearts.

If you're interested in seeing revival and renewal happen again. So am I. Look no further than some proof and testimonies of how it happened before. It won't happen because of church planting, but church plants will be a result. I was deeply moved, convicted and encouraged to pursue further into the Kingdom of God as I read the many healings, signs and wonders of God demonstrating his love for us and as I read the testimony of the power these things had in making peoples paths straight and bringing them to God.

There is nothing can replace the place of primary resource in a serious research. Anyone who is interested in studying Pentecostalism has to have this collection. I am glad that it is now available in Kindle form with a very low price.

Read at your own risk; you may get really serious with God!

A book for serious Christians who are tired of playing Church and participating in dead services that are under the control of men and not God. Bartleman gives a clear and concise account of what was required of the faithful in the great Pentecostal revival of the Azusa Street outpouring of the Holy Spirit of God from 1906 to 1909. He goes well beyond the Los Angeles, Azusa Street Mission in explaining how and where this great grace of God was manifest and the humility of the faithful that were blessed during this memorable season in the Church. In very many ways he points out how rigid traditional religious practices are strongholds that must be overcome before the power of God can fall once again upon His Church. Complete surrender is the key to Pentecostal revival, which we direly need today.

I could feel it coming: a growing, persistent unease that crept just beneath my skin. The more I tried to ignore it, the more unbearable it became: an itch that needed to be scratched, a scream bubbling to the surface. My father said that the urgent need to run when things were about to go wrong was a like a tic, a defense mechanism inherent in the Abernathys. I’d felt it moments before the fire, and I was feeling it now.

Sitting in Travis’s bedroom, just hours after the fire, my heart raced and my muscles twitched. My gut pulled me toward the door. Told me to leave; to get away, anywhere but here. But for the first time in my life, I didn’t want to go alone. I could barely focus on that voice I loved so much describing how afraid he was of losing me, and how he was close to escaping when he ran in the opposite direction, toward me. So many people died, some of them strangers from State but some were people I’d seen in the cafeteria, in class, at other fights.

We somehow survived and were sitting alone in his apartment, trying to process it all. Feeling afraid, feeling guilty�.�.�. about those who died, and that we had lived. My lungs felt like they were full of cobwebs and flames, and I couldn’t get the rancid smell of charred skin out of my nose. It was overpowering, and even though I’d taken a shower, it was still there, mixed in with the mint and lavender scent of the soap I used to scrub it away. Equally unforgettable were the sounds. The sirens, the wailing, the worried and panicked chatter, and the screams of people arriving on the scene to discover that a friend was still inside. Everyone looked the same, covered in soot, with identical expressions of bewilderment and despair. It was a nightmare.

Despite my struggle to focus, I did hear him say this: “The only thing I’m afraid of is a life without you, Pigeon.”

We had been too lucky. Even in a dark corner of Vegas, being attacked by Benny’s goons, we somehow still had the advantage. Travis was invincible. But being a part of the Circle, and helping to organize a fight in unsafe conditions that resulted in the deaths of countless college kids�.�.�. that was a fight not even Travis Maddox could win. Our relationship had withstood so many things, but Travis was in real danger of going to prison. Even if he didn’t know it yet, it was the one obstacle that could keep us apart. The one obstacle that we had no control over.

“Then you have nothing to be afraid of,” I said. “We’re forever.”

He sighed, and then pressed his lips against my hair. I didn’t think it was possible to feel so much for one person. He had protected me. It was my turn to protect him.

“This is it,” he said.

“What?”

“I knew the second I met you that there was something about you I needed. Turns out it wasn’t something about you at all. It was just you.”

My insides melted. I loved him. I loved him, and I had to do whatever I could to keep him safe. Whatever it took—no matter how crazy. All I had to do was talk him into it.

I leaned against him, pressing my cheek against his chest. “It’s us, Trav. Nothing makes sense unless we’re together. Have you noticed that?”

“Noticed? I’ve been telling you that all year! It’s official. Bimbos, fights, leaving, Parker, Vegas�.�.�. even fires. Our relationship can withstand anything.”

“Vegas?” I asked.

In that moment, the most insane plan formed in my mind, but the idea made sense as I stared into his warm, brown eyes. Those eyes made everything make sense. His face and neck were still covered in soot mixed with sweat, a reminder of how close we had come to losing everything.

My mind was racing. We would only need necessities and we could be out the door in five minutes. We could buy clothes there. The sooner we left the better. No one would believe two people would get on a plane right after such an enormous tragedy. It didn’t make sense, which was exactly why we had to do it.

I had to take Travis far enough away, for a specific reason. Something believable, even if it was crazy. Luckily, crazy wasn’t that far a leap for Travis and me, and it was possible the investigators would second-guess the dozens of witnesses who saw Travis fighting in the basement of Keaton Hall that night—if they had proof that we were in Vegas hours later getting married. It was absolutely insane, but I didn’t know what else to do. I didn’t have time to come up with a better plan. We should already be gone.

Travis was staring back at me expectantly, waiting to unconditionally accept whatever came out of my crazy mouth. Goddammit, I couldn’t lose him now, not after everything we’d fought through to get to this moment. By anyone’s standards, we were too young to get married, too unpredictable. How many times had we hurt one another along the way, screamed at each other one minute and fallen into bed together the next? But we’d just seen how fragile life was. Who knew when the end would come along and sweep one of us away? I looked at him, resolute. He was mine, and I was his. If I knew anything at all, it was that only those two things mattered.

He furrowed his brow. “Yeah?”

“Have you thought about going back?”

His eyebrows shot up. “I don’t think that’s a good idea for me.”

Weeks ago, I’d broken his heart. Travis chasing America’s car when he realized it was over was still fresh in my mind. He was going to fight for Benny in Vegas, and I wouldn’t go back there. Not even for him. He had gone through hell while we were apart. He’d begged me back on his knees, and I was so set on never returning to my life in Nevada, I’d walked away. I’d be a complete asshole if I asked him to go back. I half expected him to tell me to get the hell out for even mentioning it, but this was the only plan I had, and I was desperate.

“What if we just went for a night?” A night was all I needed. We just needed to be somewhere else.

He looked around his bedroom, searching the darkness for what he thought I wanted to hear. I didn’t want to be that girl, the one who wasn’t forthcoming and caused a huge, stupid misunderstanding. But I couldn’t tell Travis the truth about what I’d just proposed to him. He would never agree to go.

“A night?” He clearly had no clue how to respond. He probably thought it was a test, but the only thing I wanted was for him to say yes.

“Marry me,” I blurted out.

His mouth parted, forming a silent gasp. I waited lifetimes until his lips curved upward, and he sealed his mouth on mine. His kiss screamed a thousand different emotions. My brain felt swollen with warring thoughts of relief and panic. This was going to work. We would get married, Travis would have an alibi, and everything would be okay.

Oh, hell.

Damn. Shit. Fuck.

I was getting married.

Abby Abernathy was famous for one thing: having no Tell. She could commit a crime and smile like it was any other day, lie without a twitch in her eye. Only one person in the world had any chance of learning her Tell, and that one person had to figure it out if he wanted to have any chance with her.

Me.

Abby had lost her childhood, and I’d lost my mom, so for two people who struggled to get on the same page, we were the same story. That gave me an edge, and after making this my goal over the past months, I’d arrived at an answer:

Abby’s Tell was not having one. It might not make sense to most people, but it made perfect sense to me. It was the absence of that Tell that gave her away. The peace in her eyes, the softness in her smile, the relaxation of her shoulders alerted me that something was wrong.

If I didn’t know her better, I might have thought this was just our happy ending, but she was up to something. Sitting in the terminal, waiting to board a plane to Vegas, with Abby snuggled into the curve of my body, I knew it was easy to try to ignore. She kept lifting her hand, staring at the ring I’d bought her, and sighing. The middle-aged woman across from us was watching my new fianc�e and smiled, probably fantasizing about a time when she had her whole life ahead of her. She didn’t know what those sighs really meant, but I had an idea.

It was hard to be happy about what we were about to do with the cloud of so many deaths hanging above our heads. No, really, it was literally above our heads. A television on the wall displayed the local news. Footage of the fire and the latest updates scrolled across the screen. They interviewed Josh Farney. He was covered in soot and he looked horrible, but I was glad to see he’d made it. He was fairly hammered when I saw him before the fight. Most of the people who came to the Circle either came drunk or worked their way up to a buzz while they waited for me and my opponent to trade blows. When the flames began to crawl across the room, adrenaline pumped into everyone’s veins—enough to sober up even the most intoxicated.

I wished it hadn’t happened. We’d lost so many, and this wasn’t exactly something you’d want your wedding to follow. From experience, I knew that the memory of a tragedy could be misplaced. Attaching this date to something we would celebrate year after year would keep it front and center in our minds. Damn, they were still bringing out bodies, and I was acting like this was an annoyance. There were parents out there who had no idea they’d never see their kids again.

That selfish thought led to guilt, and that guilt led to a lie. It was a sheer miracle that we were getting married right now, anyway. But I didn’t want Abby thinking I was anything but super fucking pumped about getting married. Knowing her, she’d misread it and then change her mind. So I focused on her, and what we were about to do. I wanted to be a normal, so-excited-I-might-puke groom-to-be, and she deserved nothing less. It wouldn’t be the first time I’d pretended not to care about something I couldn’t get out of my head. The living proof was snuggled up next to me.

On the television screen, the anchorwoman standing outside Keaton Hall held the microphone with both hands, a frown line between her eyebrows. “.�.�. what the families of the victims will be asking: who is to blame? Back to you, Kent.”

Suddenly the nausea became real. So many had died, of course they were going to hold someone accountable. Was it Adam’s fault? Would he go to prison? Would I? I hugged Abby to me and kissed her hair. A woman behind a desk picked up a mic and began to speak, and my knee started to bounce uncontrollably. If we weren’t going to board soon, I might pick up Abby and run to Vegas. I felt like I could have made it there before the plane. The airline agent instructed us about boarding the flight, her voice rising and falling with the scripted announcement she’d probably read a million times. She sounded like the teacher in those Peanuts cartoons: bored, monotone, and impossible to understand.

The only thing that made sense were the thoughts on repeat inside my head: I was about to become the husband of the second woman I’d ever loved.

It was almost time. Damn. Shit, yeah! Fuck, yes!

I was getting married!

*** Spoiler Alert **** Ruined it for me

I can't believe I am writing a review for only 2 stars but it happened. I feel like this book ruined Beautiful Disaster for me. I loved and have read BD & WD over and over because I love Travis and the realness of their relationship. That being said I HATE that she makes the reason for Abby asking Travis to marry him to be because of anything but love. I do realize she was TRYING to save him out of love but I don't feel like the author showed the love. I also hate that she never has Abby come clean to Travis and that this lie is over their whole future and wedding. I was so disappointed and really wish I could erase this book from my memory.

Radiation Therapy Essentials

This book is quite small but a good resource to help you focus with your studies. It also comes with 200 practice questions to reinforce some of the important concepts. I used this book along with Mosby's review guide, lecture notes and the Principle and Practice of Radiation Therapy textbook for reference. I passed the exam yesterday and I am grateful to have had these books. This book has some typos and minor errors, just be aware. I recommend it as a part of your preparation but not as your sole resource. Good luck to everyone.

Excellent overview of oil refining

Very Good overview of petroleum refining. Well written.
I would recommend it, as an introduction text, for every engineer working in an oil refinery.
However, it is not written for process engineers looking a technical book, as the process engineering concepts are not covered and sometimes incorrect.
For example, Leffler states that "the perforations permit the vapors to rise through the column and the liquids to fall" to explain how distillation perforated trays work. Liquid flow through the perforations has to be avoided (this is called "tray dumping").

Excellent intro to Refining

If you are new to Refining, or just curious, this book is an excellent place to start. The author makes the subject very approachable for lay people and engineers new to refining. The books starts out with a description of the physical separation processes of distillation and vacuum flashing, and then moves carefully into the processes that require chemical reactions. No need to be a chemistry whiz; the author keeps the principles understandable. Highly recommend. Now if the publisher would only come out with a Kindle edition!

About the Author
David Hair is the New Zealand-based author of three fantasy series. The Aotearoa Series is a young adult series published by HarperCollins in New Zealand. His first novel, The Bone Tiki, won Best First Book at the 2010 NZ Post Children's Book Awards. The series is built around the concept of two parallel New Zealands--the modern world, and another magical world peopled by legends, historical personages, and the ghosts of ordinary New Zealanders. There are six books in the series, which concluded in 2014 with Magic and Makutu. Hair has also written a four book YA series, The Return of Ravana, set in India and published by Penguin India. The series tells the story of a group of people whose lives are linked by one tragic past life, the consequences of which resonate in every subsequent life, with horrific results. Book One, Pyre of Queens, won the LIANZA award for Best YA Novel in 2012.

Another Fantasy Series on Par with Martin's ASoIaF

"The Scarlet Tides" by David Hair is a fantastic romp in fantasy fiction. Magic, betrayal, conquering kingdoms, falling kingdoms, assassinations, moral conflict, lack of morals, and flying carpets. One cannot go wrong when they add a flying carpet to their story.

While "Mage's Blood" was very slow in getting to the meat of the story David Hair was wanting to tell, by the end of the book the story became an engrossing page turning tale of conspiracies, murder, failure and redemption. "The Scarlet Tides" picks up right where it left off without the slow start.

David Hair's world building is excellent. Creating a rich environment for the story to unfold in. The characters often find themselves in beautifully created environs in which to allow their magic, called gnosis, to wreak havoc. It is definitely not hard to be transported into the world Hair has created.

"The Moontide Quartet" is two books deep so far, and it is definitely shaping up as a epic fantasy tale not to be passed up on. It has everything a fantasy novel should have. Here's hoping book three maintains the momentum that David Hair has accumulated through books one and two. Check this series out while you wait for "Winds of Winter".

A worthy sequel

There are probably too many separate threads at the beginning of the book. It jumps around too much as the author goes from character to character to let the reader know where each is at the beginning. For a few chapters, it feels like we are just counting faces, not much happens at first. But when the story gets going by the end, the reader is fully engaged. It is a little predictable in that the main characters somehow survive certain death. Hair does does not surprise like Martin in killing off major characters. But I enjoyed this book better than ninety percent of my recent reads.

The action heats up

I have to admit that I enjoyed this second book more than the first. Building the foundation for a series and new fantasy world is difficult and can be a bit of a data dump. This second book is where the action really heats up.

We get inside the heads of some new characters, while also keeping most of the old "faces" around. There are some more overly-similar place names thrown in, but don't let yourself get bogged down in the minituae.

This book doesn't end on as strong a cliffhanger as before, with the bridge opening and all, but there are definitely events developing and resolutions pending.

David Hair writes human failings, and learning from those failings, very well. So you will enjoy watching characters grow along with cringing when they stumble.
